Biography
Tae Keller is the Newbery award winning and #1 New York Times-bestselling author of When You Trap a Tiger, Jennifer Chan is Not Alone, and The Science of Breakable Things. She is the winner of the Newbery, the Asian Pacific Award, the Horn Book Honor Award, and the Washington State Book Award, and her books have been translated into over a dozen languages.
She grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she subsisted on musubi and purple rice, before moving to the mainland for college. Now, she lives in Seattle with her husband and her dog, Butter, and writes stories about biracial kids trying to find their voices.
When she’s not writing, you can find her teaching creative writing at Hamline University, visiting schools to talk with students, reading, and stand up paddle boarding.
