The Author Village is thrilled to welcome five new artists to our growing community. Tracey Baptiste, Susan Campbell Bartoletti, John Parra, Aisha Saeed, and Jeff Zentner are now part of The Author Village.
Tracey Baptiste is the author of the highly acclaimed middle grade fantasy sensations, The Jumbies and Rise of the Jumbies. She’s also the author of the young adult novel, Angel’s Grace as well as numerous non-fiction books. Her newest book is an untitled Minecraft novel.
Susan Campbell Bartoletti is one of the most celebrated writers of non-fiction for children today. She is the Newbery Honor award-winning author of Hitler Youth, Growing Up in Hitler’s Shadow, the Robert F. Sibert award-winning author of Black Potatoes, The Story of the Great Irish Famine, 1845-1850, and the NCTE Orbis Pictus Honor award-winning author of Terrible Typhoid Mary: A True Story of the Deadliest Cook in America.
John Parra is the illustrator of numerous books for children including the Pura Belpré Honor and SCBWI Golden Kite Award winning Gracias/Thanks, the Pura Belpré Honor award-winning Green Is a Chile Pepper, and the SCBWI Golden Kite Award winning Marvelous Cornelius: Hurricane Katrina and the Spirit of New Orleans.
Aisha Saeed is the Pakistani-American author of the ground-breaking teen novel, Written in the Stars and the highly anticipated middle grade novel, Amal Unbound. She is also a founding member of the grass-roots, non-profit organization, We Need Diverse Books.
Jeff Zentner is the author of the William C. Morris Award-winning and Carnegie Medal longlisted novel The Serpent King, the highly acclaimed novel Goodbye Days, and the forthcoming Rayne & Delilah’s Midnite Matinee.
