Congratulations to Elizabeth Acevedo!

Elizabeth Acevedo’s stunning debut novel in verse, The Poet X, has been named to the longlist for the 2018 National Book Award in the category of Young People’s Literature.

The Poet X is the story of Xiomara, a young woman growing up in Harlem who discovers that slam poetry is the vehicle to help her better understand her mother’s religion and as well as her own relationship with the world.
