The Author Village is thrilled to announce that we’re adding to our ranks! Seven talented authors who are also dynamic and powerful speakers have joined the Author Village, and we’re so excited to help bring them to your classroom, library or event!

 

Brandy Colbert is the author of the Stonewall Award–winning novel Little & Lion, the critically acclaimed novels Pointe and Finding Yvonne, and the forthcoming The Revolution of Birdie Randolph.

 

 

 

Leah Henderson is the author of the middle grade novel One Shadow on the Wall, an Africana Children’s Book Award notable, and a Bank Street Best Book of 2017. Her forthcoming picture books include Together We MarchDay For Rememberin’, and Mamie on the Mound.

 

 

 

Nina LaCour is the bestselling and Michael L. Printz Award-winning author of four critically acclaimed young adult novels published by Dutton Books: We Are OkayHold StillThe Disenchantments, and Everything Leads to You.

 

 

 

Linda Sue Park is the author of more than two dozen books for young readers, including picture books, middle-grade and young-adult novels, short stories, and poetry. Among her titles are the 2002 Newbery Medal winner A Single Shard, and the New York Times-bestseller A Long Walk to Water.

 

 

 

Dashka Slater is the author of the true crime narrative, The 57 Bus, winner of the 2018 Stonewall Book Award and a Boston Globe-Horn Book Honor. She is also the author of several children’s picture books including EscargotThe Antlered Ship, and Dangerously Ever After.

 

 

 

Ronald L. Smith is the award-winning author of the middle grade novel, Black Panther: The Young Prince. His first novel, Hoodoo, won the 2016 Coretta Scott King/John Steptoe New Talent Author Award, and he is also the author of the supernatural Victorian fantasy novel, The Mesmerist.

 

 

 

Lisa Yee’s first book, Millicent Min, Girl Genius, debuted in 2003. Since then, she’s had over nineteen more novels published – and at this very moment is working on a new one. Lisa’s recent projects included penning the DC Super Hero Girls middle grade novel series and American Girl’s Girl of the Year books.

Once physical schools, libraries, and facilities begin to reopen, and once we learn the policies and guidelines set forth by schools, districts, libraries, and local governments pertaining to outside and out-of-state visitors, we will begin to schedule in-person appearances again.
