It’s time to share some fantastic news! The Author Village is thrilled to welcome five more extraordinary book creators to our collective. All are available for virtual and in-person (when they return) school visits, library events, conferences, and festivals. Each offers a variety of presentations, workshops, and shared learning programs for students, schools, and communities:

Nidhi Chanani is a freelance illustrator, cartoonist, and writer. Her picture books include I Will Be Fierce (written by Bea Birdsong) and Binny’s Diwali (written by Thrity Umrigar). Her graphic novels include Pashima, a YALSA Top Ten Great Graphic Novels for Teens, and the forthcoming Jukebox.

 

 

 

Sona Charaipotra is an entertainment journalist and the author of Symptoms of a Heartbreak and the Tiny Pretty Things series, now a Netflix original television series. She is also co-founder of CAKE Literary, a boutique book packager and has served as a vice president for content and as a board member of We Need Diverse Books.

 

 

 

Kyle Lukoff is the Stonewall-award winning author of When Aidan Became A Brother (illustrated by Kaylani Juanita) and the Max and Friends early reader series (illustrated by Luciano Lozano). His debut middle grade novel, Too Bright To See, arrives this spring, and his first non-fiction book, If You’re A Kid Like Gavin will be here next year.

 

 

Oge Mora is the author and illustrator of Thank You, Omu!, winner of a Caldecott Honor, the Coretta Scott King/John Steptoe New Talent Award, and the Ezra Jack Keats Book Award. She is also the author and illustrator of Saturday, winner of the 2020 Boston Globe—Horn Book Picture Book Award.

 

 

 

Debbie Ridpath Ohi is an award-winning author and illustrator whose books include Where Are My Books? and Sam & Eva, and whose illustrations appear in books by Judy Blume, Michael Ian Black, Linda Sue Park, Aaron Reynolds, and many among others. Her most recent books are Gurple & Preen (with Linda Sue Park) and I’m Sorry (with Michael Ian Black).
