The Author Village is growing again! We’re thrilled to announce that nine more exceptional authors are joining our collective this summer! Like the others on our roster, they are a dynamic and diverse group of creators. They all excel at interacting with children and readers of all ages. We’re elated they’re now part of our community!


Angela Dominguez is a two-time recipient of the Pura Belpré Illustration Honor. She is the awarding winner author and illustrator of many books including Maria Had A Little Llama, Mango, Abuela, and Me, and Stella Diaz Has Something to Say.





Hena Kahn is the author of middle grade fiction like Amina’s Voice and More to the Story and picture books like Golden Domes and Silver Lanterns and Under My Hijab. She is also the author of the popular Zayd Saleem Chasing the Dream series.





Alan Katz is the author of over thirty highly-acclaimed books for kids including Take Me Out of the Bathtub, OOPS! and The Day the Mustache Took Over. His first two non-fiction books (combining facts and laughs), Awesome Achievers in Science and Awesome Achievers in Technology, came out just this year.





Rafael López is the #1 New York Times bestselling illustrator of The Day You Begin written by Jacqueline Woodson, the two-time Pura Belpre Medal award-winning illustrator of Drum Dream Girl and Book Fiesta!; and the three-time Pura Belpre Honor award-winning illustrator of Tito Puente: Mambo King; The Cazuela that the Farm Maiden Stirred; and My Name Is Celia: The Life of Celia Cruz.




Kate Messner is the author of award-winning picture books, easy readers, chapter books, novels, and works of nonfiction. Her titles include picture books like Over and Under the Snow, novels like All the Answers, The Seventh Wish and Breakout, the Fergus and Zeke easy reader series, and the popular Ranger in Time chapter books.





Beth Revis is the New York Times bestselling author of many young adult novels, including the Across the Universe series and the Star Wars novel Rebel Rising. Beth is also a highly sought-after creative writing instructor.






Dan Santat is the author/illustrator of the Caldecott Award-winning book The Adventures of Beekle: The Unimaginary Friend, as well as the New York Times best-selling titles After the Fall and Are We There Yet?  He is also the creator of the Disney animated hit The Replacements.





Padma Venkatraman is the award-winning author of highly acclaimed novels such as The Bridge Home, a 2019 Global Read Aloud book; A Time to Dance, which received five-starred reviews; and Climbing the Stairs.





Jasmine Warga is the internationally-acclaimed author of Other Words For Home, My Heart and Other Black Holes, and Here We Are Now. Her novels have received multiple starred reviews and have been translated into more than twenty-five different languages.
